Larry Coursey joined VCP in August 2006 as a member of our warehouse team. In 2008, he made the move inside to be a major account manager. His first-hand knowledge of handling machines and parts in the warehouse has provided him the fast track and insight to our business. In the short time he has been a member of the inside sales team he has grown the Taser product line in a big way. He is the go-to guy for personal protection items and accessories. Larry can answer any questions you may have about the Taser line as well as any of the vacuum industry products we offer.

Larry deals with many Web-site dealers and says, “I know a majority of my customers on a personal basis; however, the Web-site dealers operate at a much faster pace, and we can’t interact like I do with the dealers that phone in.” Larry makes it a point to personally give devoted attention to all of his clients.

Before VCP, Larry worked in the commercial upholstery industry. He is currently attending Dallas County Community College, working on his business degree. In the evenings he likes to e-trade, and on weekends he can be found entertaining his friends or wakeboarding on one of the local lakes.

Gary said, “I can relate to the issues that dealers face on a day-to-day basis." He prides himself on knowledge regarding issues in the industry.

When Gary is finished for the day providing exemplary customer support, you can find him entertaining and watching one of his favorite television shows like American Idol. Gary Says, “I enjoy hosting watching parties, and during the elimination rounds we try and guess the outcome." Well, there’s no guessing when it comes to knowing his products and parts. He also is a huge Dallas Cowboys fan, so if you have questions regarding vacuums or just want to talk football, Gary is your man.

Ron is another Texas native, originally from Grand Prairie, then Irving, now Plano. Ron gained his knowledge of the vacuum industry on the front lines by working as the service manager for Oreck Floor Care for 13 years.

His experience in dealing with customers face-to-face as well as over the phone is a true asset to our dealers and VCP. He is one of our leading salesmen and handles customer calls for our two outside sales representatives.

What Ron enjoys most about VCP is the level of competency from the top down. He considers everyone very knowledgeable in the areas where they work. The biggest thing he has noticed is that no one passes the buck. Ron says, "Everyone handles tasks responsibly and sees them through to completion, or if need be, hands them off with a detailed history of actions performed. It makes coming to work each day enjoyable."

Ron is a sports and memorabilia fanatic and collects everything from signed jerseys and cards to collectable miniature cars. He tries to catch as many of the Dallas Maverick basketball games as possible. He also likes all types of music, and there is always a genre to fit his current mood. Recently he went to see Paul McCartney in concert at the new Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas. His musical tastes vary so much that he is unable to really pick a favorite. Howard Isaacs

Howard Isaacs
Account Manager
Email:howardi@vcpint.com
Ext. 455

Howard Isaacs is a relative newcomer to VCP, but like his fellow sales professionals here, he has had extensive experience in business, including vacuum cleaners and sewing machines.

A native of DeRidder, La., Howard operated his own sewing and vac stores in that area for many years before moving to Fort Worth, where he operated a specialty brand food distribution business for more than 15 years.

“I like to hear from colleagues and friends in the business world. I know what they are experiencing and it pleases me to help them with whatever challenge they may be facing at the moment,” said Howard.

The Army veteran shares his wife’s pride in their two adult sons, J.D. and Stephen. “Hobbies?” Howard laughed softly, “I guess work is my hobby. It’s what I do and what I like.” He enjoys cooking and, time permitting, has been known to wet a line in bass waters around Louisiana and Texas.

Greg Park

Greg Park
Account Manager
Email:gregp@vcpint.com
Ext. 453

Greg is a Dallas area native. He was VCP's first warehouse manager and helped design the current inventory numbering system when he joined us in October 1983. Prior to joining VCP, Greg was an electronics warehouseman and a ladies' shoe salesman for the Dallas area Sanger Harris stores. When he started at VCP, Greg worked at Broadway Vacuum to understand how the parts interchanged in vacuums. He worked there for three years in the afternoons and at night on his own to learn more about the vacuum industry. During this time he was also in sales for six months. These experiences and knowledge have blended extremely well for Greg here at VCP.

Greg says, “I approach my work in helping dealers like a machine. I have a routine and a system that helps me work with dealers to make sure they are receiving my fullest attention to help them with their needs. As a courtesy to my dealers I suggest products they may have overlooked or were not aware we offered." We consider him an idea promoter, and and not only are we glad Greg has brought this knowledge to us, but we also know dealers appreciate this as well.

He says one day he would like to write a book on sales, the philosophy of a salesman. He is an avid fisherman, so when he’s not here helping you, he can be found on his boat at one of his favorite fishing coves. Greg is also a collector of Hot Wheels die-cast cars.

Jesse Valladarez

Jesse Valladarez
Account Manager
Email:jessev@vcpint.com
Ext. 454

Jesse joined VCP in August 1982. He has enjoyed his tenure working closely with his clients and helping dealers. Jesse met his wife Donna at VCP in 1991 and they have been happily married since.

We asked Jesse what he likes most about VCP. He responded, “The companies and dealers I get to talk to on a daily basis." Jesse said, “When it comes to helping customers and dealers, I get satisfaction knowing I helped them find a solution. I look forward to helping people with challenges and solving them.” Is he right? We think so. Our dealers think so, too.

Some background on Jesse: While his parents were making their way to Texas, they had to make a sudden stop in Colorado, which is where Jesse interrupted the trip to be born. The family arrived a few weeks later in Texas. He grew up in the area and eventually attended Eastfield College in Mesquite, Texas. Prior to joining VCP, Jesse was a manager for Ray's Liquor Store in Dallas, Texas. He looks back on that experience and had one thing to say: "I can honestly say over the years as a manager there, I was never robbed." Jesse also proudly served in the U.S. Army with the 101st Airborne Division. He’s a huge Dallas Cowboys fan and loves photography. His daughter Jessica is a senior in high school and he has two dogs and two cats.

His relationship with the manufacturers is key to VCP’s success. He knows all the items by sight or by part number, which makes him a walking encyclopedia of product knowledge.

When he’s not setting items up he can be found outdoors doing one of his two favorite things, hunting or fishing. He also likes to grill and is a huge football fan.

He says, “The traits that have enabled me to stay in this part of the business have been my sense of humor and communications skills. Grace Leal

Grace Leal
Office Manager
Email:gracel@vcpint.com
Ext. 422

VCP’s office manager, Grace Leal, tends to the day-to-day business and oversees that the office runs smoothly. Her role has many dimensions and she is required to wear many hats at the same time, which is quite a sight. All kidding aside, without Grace's dedicated nature and her ability to muti-task, our lives at VCP would not be as easy. She joined us in July 1997. Before that, Grace worked for Superior Air Parts in Addison, Texas, in their information systems department.

Grace is a Dallas area native and attended Dallas County Community Colleges. When she is not running and keeping fit, she can be found spending time with friends and family. Some of her other hobbies include dancing, attending her granddaughter's soccer games, or watching football and baseball.

“I fall into the small minority of female sports fans at VCP in that I have my favorite teams, Cowboys and Bears. However, move this conversation to baseball and child-rearing and then you can call me a sports fan." Grace says that reflecting on the days of being active in raising her childern and going to their games.

Grace also volunteers for one of Dallas’ oldest pregnancy and adoption centers, serving as a board member.

Don Russell

Don Russell
President &
Chief Executive Officer
Email:donr@vcpint.com
Ext. 441

Don Russell is our president and CEO. He is a native of Dallas and joined VCP fulltime in May 1976 after graduating with a management degree from Texas Tech University. At age 15 Don began working for Dallas’s top swimming instructor, Mr. Howard “Pop” Kitchens. Pop had a unique talent for teaching babies survival swimming, something he was able to pass on to Don. They would teach over 200 kids every summer, some as young as 18 months.

Don worked with Pop the last five years of the 42 that Pop taught. Taking over Pop’s business, Don himself taught for over 20 years before he retired. However, once working fulltime at VCP he only taught in the summer evenings after work. Convincing first time mothers to let you take their only child - who in most cases was scared of the water - into the pool and not drown them, taught Don not only how to sell and negotiate but that there could be no mistakes in your work, something he continues to instill in his employees today.

While in college Don also worked part time for VCP in the former Service Department, repairing machines and working in the warehouse. Once at VCP fulltime, Don was in telephone sales until his father passed away in 1978 and he took over running the company.

Don and his wife, Susan, have two great kids, Taylor and Michelle. In his spare time he enjoys serving on different boards, one being the adoption agency where he was adopted from, along with several other community organizations. Don was one of the founding board members serving, for the first 18 years of the VDTA. When he’s not working on one of the previously mentioned things he enjoys boating, golfing, and scuba diving.
